Thoughts on the Assassination

July 8, 2021
Our director Josh Gray shares a few thoughts about the assassination of Haiti’s president yesterday.

There are still so many unanswered questions about the assassination of Haiti’s president Jovenel Moïse yesterday, and we are saddened by this tragedy. In the aftermath of this event, our director Josh Gray took a few moments to share some thoughts about this situation and the ongoing challenges facing Haiti.

While this event has put Haiti on the international radar, the truth is that the Haitian people have been struggling in the midst of political instability, economic difficulty, and gang violence for a long time. It’s easy to feel hopeless, as we consider these realities, but we are more convinced than ever about the importance of investing in the next generation of Haitians. They are the ones who could change Haiti, but they are going to need our support.
