Rose Sabrine is a joyful and outgoing 4-year-old girl living with her parents and two older siblings in a rural area just outside the town of Jérémie. Their family lives in a small home that is still under construction, with only a couple of finished rooms.

Her parents are doing everything they can to provide for their children, but they are surviving on a very limited income. Her mother sells candy, cookies, and snacks on the street, earning just enough to help put food on the table. Her father, though eager to work, is currently unemployed despite ongoing efforts to find a job.

Despite these challenges, Rose’s parents have made sacrifices to enroll her in a local kindergarten. She has already completed her first year and is now continuing into her second. However, the school is a low-cost option with limited resources, and even the tuition there is becoming difficult for the family to afford. Still, they dream of giving Rose the strong education she deserves.

Rose loves going to school. She delights in learning new things, playing with her friends, and expressing herself through singing and dancing. She is a bright, eager learner with so much potential.

With sponsorship, Rose will be able to attend one of the top schools in Jérémie, with her full tuition covered. She will also receive school supplies, books, and a uniform, while her family will be supported with a small monthly stipend to help cover meals and transportation. This opportunity will not only transform Rose’s education but also ease the financial burden on her family, allowing them to better meet their basic needs.

Your support can help Rose continue her education and take an important step toward a brighter future.

Education

Education is a step toward a brighter future. However, most families struggle to afford to send their kids to school. When a student is supported through Thrive Ansanm, we cover the cost of their tuition and other school costs, so they can stay in school and succeed.

Technology

Digital access creates opportunity and connection. Most Haitian students don’t have a computer or high-speed internet, but at our resource center local students can access laptops, high-speed internet, and consistent electricity, so they won’t get left behind in today’s digital world.

Mentoring

Mentoring develops the leaders of tomorrow. We match university students with personal mentors who who provide guidance from their experience. These mentors are qualified professionals from the local community, so they understand the unique challenges confronting Haitian students.

How is your donation allocated?

School Costs

When you support a student, we commit to keeping that student in school. This means that we cover the student’s tuition and help with other necessities such as books, uniforms, food, and transportation.

Programs

Once the student’s school costs are covered, we invest the majority of the remaining money in our programs. This includes staff/mentor wages, resource center rent, student activities, and other such essential program expenses.

Fundraising / Administration

We reserve a small portion of the money you donate toward a student to help with our fundraising efforts, keep the lights on, and make sure our program is running smoothly.
