Lauris lives in Jeremie with her grandmother who makes a living selling charcoal, coffee, and small bags of water, but her small profits only provide for the bare minimum of their needs. Life has never been easy, yet Lauris doesn’t let her circumstances define her. She recently completed middle school with one of the highest exam scores in the entire department, demonstrating that she is a young woman with enormous potential. However, despite her hard work and natural giftedness, her grandmother was struggling to pay for her to start high school. Now, as a Thrive Ansanm scholarship recipient, she can continue her education without worry.
