At a young age, Ernandsky has already accomplished what few young people in Haiti achieve. She graduated from high school and quickly enrolled at New Grand-Anse University (UNOGA), where she completed her first year studying agronomy. Her success is a testament to her determination—and to the steady support of her parents, both of whom are teachers. Despite their dedication, her parents’ small incomes made it nearly impossible to continue paying her tuition after her first year, but now can she can pursue her studies without the fear of financial interruption.
Originally, she wanted to become a doctor, but the insecurity in Port-au-Prince made it too dangerous to study there. Choosing instead to stay closer to home, she discovered a new passion for agriculture. She now hopes to use her education to strengthen the agricultural productivity in her community. After graduation, she plans to start a small business raising chickens and selling eggs to support her family while gaining practical experience in her field.
Outside the classroom, Ernandsky loves reading, listening to music, and participating in youth activities at her church. She knows the road ahead will not be easy, but with her scholarship and unshakable determination, she is on her way to building a brighter future for herself and her family.
