Wildere
University of the Renaissance
Computer Engineering

Wildere, an only child, says that from the time he was in the womb, he’s been confronted with difficulties, but he’s still grateful for his life. Living with his parents in Jeremie, he graduated from high school in 2023. His father, the family’s main provider, makes mattresses for a living, and Wildère often helps him with this work. Described by his parents as a good kid from the time he was born, Wildère is determined to make them proud. In his free time, he finds solace in music, seeking out quiet places to listen. Wildère is now studying computer engineering at the University of the Renaissance in Jeremie. His dream is to create a nationwide phone network for Haiti. As he puts it, “Without this program, my dreams wouldn’t be realized, and if I don’t realize my dreams, I won’t be able to help my family.”

Education

Education is a step toward a brighter future. However, most families struggle to afford to send their kids to school. When a student is supported through Thrive Ansanm, we cover the cost of their tuition and other school costs, so they can stay in school and succeed.

Technology

Digital access creates opportunity and connection. Most Haitian students don’t have a computer or high-speed internet, but at our resource center local students can access laptops, high-speed internet, and consistent electricity, so they won’t get left behind in today’s digital world.

Mentoring

Mentoring develops the leaders of tomorrow. We match university students with personal mentors who who provide guidance from their experience. These mentors are qualified professionals from the local community, so they understand the unique challenges confronting Haitian students.
