At the end of our last mentor/mentee meeting, we surprised all of our university students by giving them a brand-new Lenovo laptop. Our goal was never just to get young people through school but to set them up for success, and this is a step toward that goal. In today’s world, a laptop is an essential tool for almost any profession, yet many university students in Haiti do not have laptops or reliable internet.
In the past, these students have had access to laptops at our resource center, but we wanted them to have a laptop that they can use to work at home or anywhere. They may not have electricity or internet at home, but they can still work on documents, spreadsheets, and other such assignments that don’t require internet. Then they can come to the resource center during the day to access high-speed internet and recharge the batteries on their laptops.
The students are thrilled to have their new laptops, and we want to thank all of our generous donors who made this possible!
